Building on the 2025 conference, we'll explore how every parish can be encouraged in Growing Younger, wherever it is on the journey.

Building on the success of the 2025 Deanery Conference, this year's Growing Younger Salford & Leigh Deanery Conference will focus on how every parish can be encouraged and equipped to grow younger, whatever stage it is currently at.

The conference is for anyone with a passion for helping children, young people and families encounter faith and flourish within the life of the parish. Whether your church is just beginning this journey or already has established ministry, the day will offer inspiration, encouragement and practical ideas.

We are delighted to welcome Bishop Matthew Porter as our keynote speaker. He will deliver a message focused on sharing the good news with new generations, ‘fanning into flame’ our gifts, and receiving a spirit of power, love and self-discipline, drawing on 2 Timothy 1. Through keynote sessions and shared conversations, we will explore how churches can create welcoming, sustainable and faith-filled environments for younger generations.

Children's, youth and family ministry volunteers

Lay ministers

Churchwardens and PCC/DCC members

Clergy

Anyone interested in supporting their church's work with children, young people and families

The day will provide an opportunity to meet the Salford Archdeaconry Encounter Team who will share how they can support parishes in their Growing Younger journey. We will also meet and hear from the leads of the Encounter and Equip Teams who will share a wider vision for the whole diocese.

Together, we'll explore how we can encourage, equip and inspire one another as we seek to encounter Jesus and help our churches grow younger across Salford & Leigh Deanery.
