The North West Stroke Support Group will meet at Thyme for Tea in Bolton, providing peer support for younger stroke survivors.
Peer support group providing help, guidance and understanding to younger/working age stroke survivors.
In preparation for World Stroke Day 2026, we are hosting a North West Region Stroke Support Group, supported by the charity Different Strokes.
You will hear from Zoe and Andy, themselves young stroke survivors, who are happy to share their experiences and aspects of their recovery journeys. You will also have a chance to chat among yourselves. Zoe and Andy are passionate about raising awareness of stroke in younger people, providing a supportive environment and community, but also keen to show that there is life after stroke. Let’s go on this journey together.
The hope is that this will become a regular event, so feel free to share your experiences and what your specific needs would be from a support group. There is no expectaction to contribute to the conversation - if all you want to do is attend and observe, and maybe have a brew, that's fine.
Having said that, we are also open to the idea of other people joining us as volunteers going forward. There will be an opportunity to talk to us on the night.
Drinks/refreshments will be available and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.
