Experience again the fear, the tears and the paranoia of the live analysis while watching raw footage of the disaster.

9/11 Watch Party rebroadcasts the responses of the mainstream media, twinning them with conspiratorial commentators in an installation of overwhelming scale.

By the end of the evening, you will have been taken in by the seductive power of conspiracy theories.

If you were there when it happened you can refresh your memories.

If you were too young, get a feel for what it was like as it happened.

Were the attacks of 9/11 'the greatest work of art imaginable for the whole cosmos', as the composer Karlheinz Stockhausen put it?

If so, what part does art play in memorialising, investigating, theorising, or distorting them?

How do the artefacts produced by artists and amateurs since that most momentous day measure up to the experience of seeing the attacks on cathode-ray television screens in 2001?

Mark the 25th Anniversary of the demolition of the Twin Towers with a communal re-enactment of the drama.

And feel free to join in the debate about the consequences at the Adam Curtis Party Conference on the Saturday at the Freemasons' Hall.

Pierre d’Alancaisez is a writer, curator and researcher working with the multiple politics of the arts.

He is the resident art critic for the English magazine The Critic. His writing has appeared in outlets such as ArtReview, The Spectator and Compact.

So much so that the archive video reveals them revising the story as it unfolds, creating a true conspiracy in real time.

The anniversary affords and opportunity to review once more the raw television image, our hyperreality’s fundamental building block.'

In 2024, Pierre co-founded Verdurin, a space for experimentation in aesthetics, learning, and the difficult conversations which drive today’s culture.

Having trained in the sciences before coming to artistic practice, Pierre also worked on cultural exchange and engagement strategies in higher education and the charity sector. He has held senior positions in publishing and financial services.
