Bournemouth's best new Comedy Night!
Welcome back to Don't Blend In.
Hosted in the old Daily Echo print room, it promises to be a night you don't want to miss.
Archie Brettle will once again be your master of ceremonies, delivering "Incredible Energy" - Anonymous Attendee
Another audience member regarded him as "Confident, professional, fun, funny, can tell his heart is in it, made for the stage."
But enough about him, "Who is on stage?", I hear you cry.
Headlining is Tadiwa Mahlunge
Billed as “one of the country's top new comedy acts” by The York Press, Tadiwa Mahlunge has performed at, among others, the Latitude, Greenman, and Greenwich Comedy Festivals, and regularly performs at Top Secret Comedy Club, The Frog and Bucket, The Comedy Store, Glee, Monkey Barrel, Just the Tonic, and now headlines for Off the Kerb, and at smaller regional clubs around the country.
Tadiwa has provided tour support for Dylan Moran, Ed Byrne, Mark Watson, Kyle Kinane, Craig Conant, Christina P, Steven Ho, Tom Houghton, Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Jessica Fostekew, and TV warm-up for Desiree Burch’s Amazon Prime special.
As seen on BBC 1, BBC 2, Dave, Comedy Central, UTV, Comic Relief and heard on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Northampton and BBC Sounds - Tadiwa Mahlunge has established himself as one of comedy’s hottest prospects. As such, he featured on the 2022 Pleasance Comedy Reserve at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Opening is Meryl O'Rourke
Acclaimed stand-up comic and TV writer Meryl O'Rourke revels in her bitterness. She has delighted comedy audiences, written some of the best gags on telly and even hosted pop concerts.
She has been a regular support for Frankie Boyle since 2010, when she opened for him at the Hammersmith Apollo. In his book Work!Consume!Die! he calls Meryl "Inspiringly funny".
Meryl's cheeky routines of dysfunctionality get her choice gigs. She performs 20-60 min sets and is regular MC for many major promoters. A sought after gag writer, Meryl was part of the BAFTA & RTS winning teams for Frankie Boyle’s Farewell To The Monarchy and Tour Of Scotland, got a BBC Audio Award nomination for Daliso Chaponda’s Citizen Of Nowhere, written for Jason Manford at the Olivier Awards, News Quiz BBC, Dress To Impress ITV2, Have I Got News for You, Room 101, and 3 series of Mock the Week.
In the middle, we have Emmanuel O
"With so much to say, using stupid wit, vulnerability and honesty as his tools to express it all, Emmanuel puts together a colourful patchwork of comical memories and events. A young comedian navigating through the best and worst in life through a lens that is exciting and sometimes a little awkward..."
As heard on BBC Radio and LGTDZ Radio, seen on Don't Tell Comedy and Netflix (Sex Education S4)
