A workshop titled How to Thrive When You're In The Minority is held at Re-imagine Southbourne in Bournemouth on 6 November 2026. The session costs £27.80 and addresses feelings of being out of place.
Have you ever felt out of place stepping into a space where you didn't know anyone? This one is for you!
Many of us have felt out of place stepping into a room where you didn’t know anyone. Now take that and add in being a minority in more ways than one and you have an idea of what life has been like at times for professional Muay Thai fighter Iony Lawrence.
Not only has she had to carve out success in a male-dominated field, when she moved to Thailand for three years, she had to contend with not just being a woman but also being a foreigner who didn’t speak the language. Talk about minority times three!
At our November 6 session, Iony will share her experiences of carving out her own path in Muay Thai and lessons she learnt that apply even outside the world of sport.
Join us from 6:30pm to talk about pursuing and achieving success in environments where women are underrepresented, how to respond when you’re underestimated and how to manage the challenges that come from being in the minority.
As always, it'll be a great evening of conversation, connection and community. As always, there’ll be delicious food, drinks, good vibes and a room full of brilliant women. I can't wait to see you all.
