AIMS:

Explore the endo-restorative continuum and the factors influencing long-term tooth survival

Discuss restorability and dynamic clinical decision-making during endodontic treatment

Review the management of cracked teeth, deep margins and limited ferrule

Consider how intra-operative findings change prognosis and the restorative plan

Discuss when long-term provisionalisation and monitoring may be preferable before definitive restoration

Review the transition to indirect restoration, including margin management, cuspal protection and the choice between crown and onlay

OBJECTIVES:

Assessing restorability, remaining tooth structure and ferrule

Managing cracks, deep margins and structurally compromised teeth

How intra-operative findings alter prognosis and the restorative plan

Coronal sealing and core build-up, and whether immediate dentine sealing is worth doing

Recognising when a tooth is crown ready and when further monitoring is appropriate

The role of long-term provisional restorations in uncertain or compromised cases

Choosing between a crown and an onlay, and selecting the definitive indirect restoration
