About This Event

A masterclass on writing 'Romantasy' is being held on October 3, 2026, at the Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth, led by Amy de la Force. This workshop, focusing on the romance genre, is priced at £150.00.

Join our small-group masterclass on writing the fastest growing genre of romance

Romantasy is the fastest-growing genre in publishing right now. So how do writers stand out in a crowded marketplace, to create and pitch a book that's unique but also commercially viable?

Drawing on industry data and real stories, romantasy author and Lucy Cavendish Fiction Prize shortlistee Amy de la Force will deliver a masterclass on blending swoony romance with fantasy stakes. The session will unpack genre essentials, explore high-concept ideas, and end with a Q&A on agent querying and editor submissions.​

All participants will receive a copy of Amy's book and receive a Ploughman's buffet lunch.

You do not need a ticket to the Romance Writing Festival to attend this masterclass although a discounted joint-ticket is available on the Romance Writing Festival website.
