Myofascial Release Therapy with Stephanie Reading

By the end of the talk, you’ll have a clearer understanding of fascia, its structure and function, and its role in movement and the body. You’ll explore the current science behind myofascial release and what the evidence can, and can’t, tell us, including the relationship between fascia, the nervous system, pain and perception. We’ll also explore the art of touch: how to listen, sense and respond to subtle changes in the body, and consider how and why myofascial techniques may create change beyond traditional explanations. You’ll leave with a more nuanced, curious and evidence-informed perspective that you can bring into your own practice.

Meet Stephanie: "My journey began as a musician and teacher, guiding students to find their unique voices and grow creatively. Experiencing the physical demands of playing firsthand led me to myofascial therapy, transforming my understanding of how body health impacts musical performance.

Now, as both a teacher and certified myofascial therapist, I offer an integrated approach to support both artistry and well-being."
