Get festive with a relaxed, family-friendly wreath-making afternoon! Create your own wreath using real seasonal foliage at The Old Rec Cafe.

Fancy getting into the festive spirit? Come along to The Old Rec Cafe at Hove Recreation Ground for a relaxed, informal afternoon of wreath making!

Whether you're a seasoned crafter or have never made a wreath before, everyone is welcome. Bring your family, get creative, and make something lovely to hang on your front door this Christmas.

What's included?

Everything you need to make your wreath will be provided, including a 30cm grapevine base and a selection of natural, seasonal materials, including spruce or fir foliage, fresh bay leaves and holly, and some homemade dried orange slices. Ribbons and glitter will also be on hand to add the finishing touches.

Florist string will be available to help you attach your foliage and decorations. Secateurs and fastening pins will also be available for adults aged 18 and over.

✨Want to add some sparkle?✨

Fairy lights will be available to purchase as an optional extra on the day, so you can give your finished wreath a magical glow :)

Families welcome!

This is a relaxed, community-based activity, and children and families are very welcome to join in and get creative.

Please note that secateurs and fastening pins are for adults aged 18 and over only. Children must be supervised by a responsible adult throughout the activity.

Tickets and pricing

Ticket prices are per wreath, not per person.

If you're making a wreath together as a family, you only need to purchase one ticket per wreath you want to make. If you'd each like to make your own, please book a ticket for each wreath.

A note about the weather

We'll be working outdoors in an unheated space, so please wrap up warm and dress for the weather!

Hot drinks will be available to purchase from the cafe towards the beginning of the session, giving you the chance to grab something warm before you get stuck into your wreath.

The event is weather permitting, so please bear this in mind when booking-- we will get in touch with next steps if we have to postpone/cancel.

Come and get creative!

Spend a couple of hours enjoying seasonal greenery, getting creative and making something lovely to take home. Whether you're coming along with family, friends or on your own, we'd love to see you there!
