Join us at Cookbookbake on Sunday November 2026 at 4pm for a special event with Australian cook and food writer Ella Mittas, celebrating the launch of her second cookbook, Ela! Ela! 2.

Through the food of Italy, Georgia and Bulgaria, Ella explores the traditions, stories and cultural histories that shape what we grow, cook and share around the table.

Ella will be travelling from Australia to the UK for a handful of events, and we’re delighted to welcome her to Cookbookbake. She’ll be cooking recipes from Ela! Ela! 2, sharing the inspiration behind them and giving us a chance to discover her latest culinary adventures. Come along for an afternoon of food, stories and a celebration of Ella’s new book!

Ella has built her career in food working under Brigitte Hafner, Annie Smithers and Ismail Tosun in Australia, honing her skills in London at NOPI. ​

Ella teaches cooking classes, she also curates and caters food events - hosting dinners in collaboration with various venues across Melbourne. Her self titled project Ela, is derived from her name but also comes from a Greek word έλα - which means “come”.
