About This Event

Evalution Media and Swanwing Productions bring you a heart-warming and uplifting triple-bill of contemporary theatre, exploring age, memory, loneliness, and human connection. Rosebud & Milord (15 mins) Imperceptibly, a woman’s life lived to the full begins to slow down, witnessed only by her pets. Written & Directed by: Saskia Wesnigk-Wood | Performed by: Sharon Drain, Lorraine Yu, Mark Tournoff and Cat Gillison. Jack's Blanket (15 mins) How does it feel when your body lets you down, but your mind is still as sharp as ever? Written & Directed by: Saskia Wesnigk-Wood | Performed by: Julian McDowell. The Year Dot (45 mins) A stylised stage adaptation of the multi-award-winning short film. Dot’s illness, isolation and dreams of a big end-of-life party lead to unexpected interactions, miss-communications and frustrating technology doing more harm than good. Written & Directed by: Eva Marie Wilshere | Performed by: Sharon Drain, Lorraine Yu and the original film's cast. Show Dates & Times: Evening Performance: Saturday, 21st November 2026 at 6:00 PM Matinée Performance: Saturday, 12th December 2026 at 1:00 PM Doors open 15 minutes before curtain. (Total running time: approx. 120 mins including a 20-minute interval and two comfort breaks). Accessibility & Inclusion: We strive to keep the theatre accessible to everyone. The Brighthelm Centre Auditorium features level step-free street access, accessible toilets, and hearing assistance. We have dedicated wheelchair-accessible spaces (please inquire for further information) and our friendly Front of House team will be on hand to assist anyone who needs support.
