Brighton's longest running spoken word night, featuring headline performances and our legendary poetry slam

Join us for a night of exhilarating spoken word poetry, featuring our iconic poetry slam and headline performances from some of the UK's biggest spoken word stars. Hosted by the hilarious Leanne Shorley, with festive, panoramic views of the gorgeous Brighton seafront.

PLEASE NOTE: This slam will be at The Seahorse (26 Kings Rd, Brighton BN1 2LN), not our usual venue. It’s near the i360, right next to the Upside Down House.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Seating is cabaret style and unreserved. The kicthen won't be open during during this slam, so you won't be able to order food.

HOW TO SLAM: Get yourself a 'Performer Ticket' and prepare an original poem of 3 minutes or less (no music, no props). Any style, any theme, anything you want! It doesn't have to be memorised and you're more than welcome to read from paper/your phone.

ACCESSIBLILY: The Seahorse is an accessible venue with step free access and an accessible toilet. Please use the beach entrance for step-free access. Feel free to email hammerandtonguebrighton@gmail.com for more info.
