The London to Brighton EV Rally is back on Saturday 26 June 2027. Teams sign on at Westminster City School, roll out through central London, then head south through the Surrey and Sussex countryside to the finish on Madeira Drive, Brighton.

It is not a race. It is an energy-efficiency trial. Every vehicle covers the same route on the same day in the same conditions, and we measure exactly how much energy each one uses to get there. The least energy used in each category wins a trophy.

For 2027, entering your vehicle is completely free. Register your vehicle, add your passengers and you're in.

Every entry includes:

A place in the rally line-up for one vehicle, its driver and passengers

Breakfast at the start: a couple of pastries and a coffee, free of charge

Official rally stickers and vehicle identification

Your energy result, measured and judged within your category

The EVillage on Madeira Drive: manufacturer stands, test drives and food along the seafront

Entry to the evening Awards Party, with a welcome drink on arrival

Seafront lunch and Awards Party dinner will be available as optional extras. We're finalising the menus and prices now, and in the coming months we'll email everyone who has entered so you can add them to your booking. Nothing to do for now, just get your place.

Who can enter.

Any road-legal electric vehicle, from city cars, SUVs and vans to buses, e-motorbikes, e-bikes and self-builds. Private owners, company and fleet vehicles, dealers and manufacturers are all welcome.

Places are limited to 100 vehicles. We sold out last year, so don't leave it late.

How to book.

Choose one Rally Entry: Vehicle & Driver ticket. One order per vehicle.

Add a free Passenger ticket for each person travelling with you, in the same order. Passengers are welcome as long as there's a seat belt for each one, and we'll ask for every passenger's full name.

Tell us your vehicle's make, model and registration so we can print your stickers and plan the start.

The EVillage is packed with the latest electric cars, and test drives are booked in advance. When you register, just tell us if you'd like one. No sales pitch and no obligation, whether it's just for fun or you're seriously shopping for your next car.

How the day runs.

Morning: sign-on, vehicle checks and breakfast at Westminster City School, then a staggered start through central London.

Afternoon: finish on Madeira Drive, record your energy reading, then enjoy the seafront and the EVillage.

Evening: the Awards Party over Brighton Marina, with trophies in every category.

Exact timings, your sign-on slot and the route pack will be emailed to every entrant before the day.

Good to know.

Drivers need a full, valid driving licence. Vehicles must be road legal, taxed, insured and MOT'd where required.

Arrive at the start with enough charge for 60 miles plus a sensible reserve.

The route uses public roads and normal traffic laws apply. Nobody is timed for speed.

Coming to watch? You don't need a ticket. The EVillage on Madeira Drive is free and open to everyone.
