Experience Our Historic Model Railway in Action

Our popular Train Running Days take place just a few times a year, offering visitors the rare opportunity to see our magnificent 1930s Gauge 0 model railway in full operation.

Throughout the day, our historic layout will be alive with activity, with vintage locomotives running continuously on the central three-rail Gauge 0 railway.

Discover the Christmas Railway Rush

From Victorian times onwards, Britain's railways played a vital role in transporting letters, parcels and luggage across the country.

At Christmas, the railway network became busier than ever, with dedicated parcel trains and Travelling Post Office vehicles helping to handle the enormous seasonal demand.

For this special event, expect to see a fascinating variety of historic railway vehicles, including:

Passenger and parcel vans used to transport goods and luggage.

Luggage vans carrying everything from everyday belongings to Christmas presents.

Travelling Post Office vehicles representing the railway's vital role in delivering the nation's post.

Vintage locomotives and rolling stock representing different railway companies and periods, from the great Victorian railways through to British Railways.
