Safeguarding in a Counselling Context

Join us in person for an engaging session all about safeguarding within counselling.

Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out, this event will equip you with practical tips to keep your clients and yourself safe. Expect real-life examples, interactive discussions, and a laid-back atmosphere where you can ask questions and connect with others in the field.

Aims of the Course:

To provide a basic awareness of safeguarding concerns that you are likely to come into contact with, in the context of counselling.

To cover legislation, legal definitions, categories & signs and indicators of abuse for both children & adults (including domestic violence) so counsellors feel confident in identifying a safeguarding concern. This meets the standard of a Level 2 Safeguarding Course.

To explore & reflect on the impact of safeguarding concerns on the therapist, the client & how you may wish to respond to this in a counselling context.

To provide local contact lists, helpful tools to use in a safeguarding context.

At the end of the course attendees should have an understanding of what safeguarding is in the context of their role, their potential responsibilities/ response and tools to support them in practice.

The training is interactive and encourages participation & reflection so attendees leave with a sense of their own stance in this area!
