Looking for support to move towards work or training? Feeling unsure about your next step?
Come along to a relaxed group info and sign‑up session with SPEAR Brighton, hosted at the Youth Employment Hub.
This is an informal, no‑pressure session where you can meet the SPEAR team, ask questions, and find out whether their programme could be right for you. You don’t need a CV, you don’t need to commit - just come as you are!
What Is the SPEAR Programme?
SPEAR is a free employability programme for young people aged 16–24 who are not currently in work, education or training (NEET).
Their 6‑week Foundation Programme helps you:
Build confidence and motivation
Develop key work and life skills
Explore your strengths and career interests
Prepare for jobs, apprenticeships or training
After the Foundation Programme, SPEAR continues to support you for up to a year, offering one‑to‑one coaching to help you move into sustained employment or education.
SPEAR has supported thousands of young people across the UK to take positive next steps - and their coaches are friendly and there to support you.
What happens at the session?
During the session, you can expect:
A short introduction from SPEAR coaches explaining what the programme is and how it works
A clear breakdown of the 6‑week Foundation Programme, including what a typical week looks like, the kinds of activities you’ll take part in, and what’s expected from you
An overview of the ongoing 1‑to‑1 support available after the course
Informal group discussions and activities to help you start thinking about your goals, strengths and next steps
Time to chat one‑to‑one with coaches
The opportunity to ask questions at any point
Support with signing up on the day if you decide you’d like to join
You can dip in and out of conversations, listen in, or take part — whatever feels comfortable. There’s no pressure to speak or commit to anything.

This event is for young people aged 16–24 who are:
Not currently in education, employment or training (NEET)
Feeling unsure about their next steps
Wanting support with confidence, motivation or routine
Interested in work, apprenticeships or training but don’t know where to start
