You’re probably here because you either love drawing or you love dogs, and if that’s the case, then this might just be the perfect event for you.

Welcome to Dog Life Drawing classes with artist Cai Burton at Wiper and True Taproom, Old Market

Join this art class with a difference and get to know your fluffy models with a tail who just love scratches, pets and treats. Each class will feature multiple dogs of all shapes and sizes - expect snorting flat faces, long legs, tight curls and waggy tails. Try to keep up with the dogs movements and capture a variety of sketches, or spend longer on timed exercises led by artist Cai Burton.

Classes are fun and relaxed with the opportunity to move around and see different dogs. Get to know the owners and play with the pups during the break. Share your work afterwards and see how other artists of all skill levels capture these furry friends.

Cai will guide you through the session, introducing you to the class with structured warm ups and moving you around the space. Despite this, classes are still relaxed with the opportunity to move around as you see fit.

Drinks will be available from the bar and chilled music will help set the tone.

On the day

Please arrive 10 minutes early to get checked in and settled.

There is limited car parking available (8 spaces), situated at the front of the brewery, at the opposite side of the building to the taproom. Nearest alternative car parks are Trinity Car Park and Cabot Circus.

Dry drawing equipment is available to borrow including A3/A4 paper & boards, pens & pencils, chalk & charcoal, and oil pastels.

Please check with the owner before interacting with the dogs. Their welfare is important, so anyone acting inappropriately will be removed.

There will be a 10 minute break halfway.

I'm always looking for new models, so if you would like to bring a dog of your own, please email me on cai@joyful-design.co.uk.

Please do not bring your own dog to a session unless it is a service dog.
