About This Event

On 20 November 2026, Davy's House in Hotwells, Bristol will host the inaugural lecture of a new series focused on the psychedelic humanities. Dr. Daan Oostveen from Utrecht will discuss how the psychedelic revival is influencing culture and society, examining both its potential and its limitations. Tickets are priced at £25 and include a complimentary glass of wine.

Davy's House, the former site of the Pneumatic Institution – sometimes called the birthplace of psychedelic science – is launching a new lecture series with [@UWEBristol](https://www.instagram.com/UWEBristol/?hl=en). In this inaugural lecture, Dr. Daan Oostveen joins us from Utrecht to introduce the psychedelic humanities, a fast-growing field that looks at how the psychedelic revival is reshaping culture and society. He weighs the promise of this moment against the limits of the science and the risks, and asks what the sciences and humanities can learn from each other. Tickets £25, complimentary glass of wine included. Full details and booking via the Davy's House website here: https://davyshouse.co.uk/events#psychedelic-humanities
