About This Event

TV Club is like a film or book club, but for television; a chance to get together, watch great shows, have a few pints and chat about what makes them work. Our second meet-up will feature “Community”, an acclaimed cult comedy that follows a fast-talking, disbarred lawyer who’s forced to attend a quirky local community college, where he forms a study group with a ragtag collection of delightfully eccentric misfits. Famous for its brilliant meta-humour, genre-bending parodies, and rapid-fire writing, it’s widely considered one of the most inventive sitcoms ever made. The first episode we’ll watch will be the pilot, which perfectly introduces the group dynamic and setting, so you won’t have any trouble following along even if you’ve never seen the show before. So whether you’re a die-hard Greendale alum or watching for the first time, come along and join the conversation. The meet up will once again be at the Royal Oak pub in Clifton, in our own space on the 2nd floor, with a big-screen TV. Their kitchen will be open, so you can grab a bite to eat along with a few drinks from the bar while we watch.
