Tyntesfield will hold a Book Club meeting at its venue in Bristol on 15 September 2026. The bookshop at Tyntesfield runs the club, which has 12 members and meets once a month on a Tuesday. Admission is required.
We are proud of our Bookshop at Tyntesfield and we are now running a Book Club.
The Book Club has 12 members and meet once a month on a Tuesday (no meetings in August or December).
So far we have read:
Jan - The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri,
Feb - The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah,
March - Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro,
April - Mansfield Park by Jane Austen,
May - Orbital by Samantha Harvey,
June - American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins,
We plan to read A Town Called Solace by Mary Lawson in July.
Each new book is decided by members of the group.
The group meets in the Cow Barn Café for 2 hours with a break in the middle to get a drink. Two of our friendly Bookshop volunteers will be running the meetings. There is no criteria to joining other than an enthusiasm for reading; the willingness to try books that might differ from your usual choice and being ready to join in a discussion about them.
There is no weekly charge, although a £10 donation once a year would be appreciated and will go towards the upkeep of Tyntesfield estate.
