Route description
Edale is a small village at the start/end of the UK’s first and most famous long distance walking path - the Pennine Way.
This late-evening full moon walk explores some of the Peak District’s most iconic high-level terrain. Following the Pennine Way as the sun sets, we climb steadily up Jacob’s Ladder before continuing onto the Kinder Plateau, passing the dramatic Edale Rocks en route to Kinder Low. With darkness approaching and the moon rising above the moorland, we enjoy expansive views across the National Park. The return route heads east past the distinctive rock formations of Pym Chair and the Wool Packs before descending via Grindslow Knoll. This rewarding circular walk combines rugged scenery, open moorland and the unique atmosphere of a summer full moon on the highest Peak District terrain.
