About This Event

The Goyt Valley Challenge will return on Saturday 3 October 2026, presenting participants with a choice between a 26.2-mile or a 14.3-mile route through the western Peak District. Starting from Buxton Community School, the paths traverse Axe Edge, Goyt Valley, Shining Tor, Lamaload Reservoir, Kettleshulme, Taxal Moor and Fernilee Dam. Organised by the High Peak LDWA, the event is open to walkers of varying abilities, with both distances promising a full day of testing terrain. Entry fees are detailed on the event website.
