Step into a unique new Community Folklore Gathering coming to Fulbourn, Cambridge this November.

The Cambridge Winter Folklore Fayre brings together folklore-inspired traders, artisan makers, divination arts, local history, seasonal traditions and wellbeing spaces for a day celebrating the strange, wonderful and deeply rooted traditions that have shaped our communities.

This is more than simply a market or psychic fair. The Winter Folklore Fayre has been intentionally curated as an experience — a place to wander, discover, listen, learn and connect.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to explore a carefully selected collection of artisan traders, readers, makers and wellbeing spaces alongside folklore-inspired talks and community features.

FEATURED TALKS

We are delighted to welcome The Cambridge Historian, who will be presenting two talks throughout the day, each followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Exploring the more unusual side of local history, these sessions will delve into the stories, folklore, beliefs and events that rarely make it into the history books. Topics are currently being finalised but are expected to include local folklore, witches, battles, traditions and some of the lesser-known stories woven into the history of Cambridgeshire and the surrounding area.

We are also delighted to welcome Pete Jennings of Gruff Books, author and former President of The Pagan Federation.

Pete will be presenting a special 45-minute talk on Anglo-Saxon Elves, drawing on the research behind his Aelphame Trilogy of books.

Pete will also be bringing Gruff Books to the gathering and offering rune readings during the day.

Further folklore-inspired experiences, talks and community features are currently being developed and will be revealed as the gathering continues to unfold.
