About This Event

The Casual Chess Evening takes place on 29 September 2026 at The Grain & Hop Store in Cambridge. Organised by the local social chess club, this workshop-style gathering is open to players of all skill levels. Board games are provided for attendees, who may also purchase a drink while playing. Entry is free of charge.

Social Chess club in Cambridge, free and open to all levels. Board are provided, come and grab a drink and play!

At Cambridge Casual Chess club, we aim to provide a place for people to play over the board chess in a social/casual setting. We welcome all levels, and you'll typically find players with ratings ranging from 600 upto around 2000. So whether you're a beginner or a seasoned player you're guarenteed to find a good game.

You'll find us every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM at the Grain and Hop Store on Reagent Street.

We hope to see you there for an evening of friendly competition and camraderie.
