For October, we’re having an All Hallows special! We’ll be discussing Sheridan Le Fanu's classic early-Gothic horror Carmilla (1872). Sheridan Le Fanu's masterpiece revolves around a girl who lives in a remote forest with her ailing father and the mysterious, mesmerising and volatile Carmilla who is prone to nocturnal wanderings. This novella paved the way for a literary tradition of female and lesbian vampires, and, before Dracula, explored the boundaries of sex and death.
