Whether you’re already a member or just curious about cohousing, this is your chance to find out more about the Northstowe project.

This Open Day provides an opportunity to find out more about cohousing and what is proposed at Northstowe, visit the site, and meet existing members of both cohousing groups.

TOWN and Hill Group have obtained planning permission after a codesign process with the two cohousing groups involved (Northstowe Cohousing and Suvana Cohousing). What to expect on the day

Optional Marmalade Lane Tour – 9.30am

If you’ve never visited a cohousing community before, you’re welcome to join a tour of Marmalade Lane in Cambridge that morning. It’s a great way to see what cohousing looks and feels like in practice.

10.30am - Arrivals

Join us in the Drama Studio at Northstowe Secondary College (CB24 1DJ) from 10.30 am for tea, coffee and cake.

The venue has plenty of parking and is a short walk from Northstowe Park & Ride, which is served by the guided bus from Cambridge North Train Station.

10.45am – Presentations and Q&A

We’ll kick off with a welcome and project overview. The TOWN team, joined by members of the cohousing group, will talk through where we are, what’s next, and answer your questions.

12.00pm – Site visit

After the session, we will go on a short walk to see the site itself.

12.30pm – Cohousing short film viewing

This film was produced by Cambridge University of the Third Age and features residents of Marmalade Lane cohousing community talking about their experience of living there.

1.00pm – Lunch and social (optional)

We’ll provide a catered lunch with time to meet each other and talk more informally. This will be vegan and vegetarian. Please let us know if you would like to stay for luch and whether you have any dietary requirements by email.
