About This Event

An immersive training day titled Reimagining nature with children takes place at Storey's Field Centre in Cambridge. The session explores how creative practices enrich the understanding of nature. Tickets cost £25.00.

Join us to share insights, reflections and experiences of how creative practices can help us expand and enrich how we understand nature.

A creative exploration of how elements from Artscaping can support you in your work helping children and young people to thrive.

Through hands-on activities, reflective practices, and collaborative dialogue, we will expand how we understand nature to inspire deeper connection, more inclusive encounters, and strengthened relationships. 40 delegates will work in small groups with CCI artists and colleagues, receiving support in designing principles and practical steps to act upon in the following weeks.

We are delighted to share that our keynote will be delivered by Dr Charlotte Weatherill, Lecturer in Environmental Politics at the University of Manchester, and our concluding reflections will be led by music therapist, organisational consultant, lecturer and clinical supervisor Cerrita Smith.

Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination brings children, young people and their communities into their local landscapes through creative exploration. We use simple materials and local ecologies as a pathway for curiosity and imagination, advocating for young people’s voices and stories to be heard. Our community grew out of a collective of artists, educators and researchers, who were united in their desire to respond to the diminishing spaces for creativity in formal spaces of education. Our organisational structure is the foundation for our versatility, light footfall, and ability to work in deeply relational ways, amplifying innovative and experimental exemplars of best practice.

This Creative Exchange has been made possible through generous funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. The support allows us to offer each place at a heavily subsidised rate of £25. Please note that we do not want this to be a barrier for our partners so please let us know if you require a waiver. Please email hello@cambridgecandi.org.uk to book a free place.
