About Pearls of Islam
Pearls of Islam, consist of sisters Sakinah Lenoir and Rabiah Mali, they are a British African Caribbean duo whose music brings together devotional poetry, songs of praise, and soulful melodies in Arabic and English. Drawing inspiration from traditional Islamic poetry (Qasaid) alongside contemporary musical influences, the sisters compose and arrange their own work, weaving rich vocal harmonies with guitar, darbuka, and djembe to create music rooted in remembrance (dhikr), reflection, and love for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Alongside their musical journey, Sakinah and Rabiah are dedicated community activists and have founded and led a number of impactful initiatives, including Ladies of Light, Green Deen Tribe, The Salaam Cafe, the Herbal Blessing Clinic, the Black Muslim Women Healing Collective, and the Pearls of Islam Drumming School.
