Your next step into the world of handpan

Whether you loved your first workshop or have never played before, The Handpan Journey gives you time to develop your skills, build confidence and enjoy making music.

Across three two-hour group lessons, you’ll explore rhythm, melody and harmony in a relaxed, welcoming setting at the Cambridge Spiritualist Centre.

Each session builds on the previous one, helping you move from individual sounds and simple patterns towards playing music that feels connected and expressive.

No previous musical experience or ability to read music is needed. If you’ve already attended a Discover the Handpan workshop, this is a natural next step. If you’re completely new, we’ll guide you through the foundations.

What to Expect

Together, we’ll explore the three core pillars of music:

Rhythm: develop a steady pulse, coordination and flowing patterns.

Melody: connect notes into musical phrases and discover your own ideas.

Harmony: explore how notes work together to create different moods.

Throughout the course, you’ll also:

Develop your touch and technique to bring out a clear, balanced sound.

Build patterns you can practise and develop at home.

Learn to combine rhythm and melody.

Explore improvisation in an approachable, supportive way.

Play alongside others and receive individual guidance.

The aim is to give you a foundation you can keep building on, while enjoying the process of learning.
