A pool event organised for trans people is scheduled to take place in North Cambridge on 6 September 2026. The specific venue and location remain to be confirmed.
We've booked out the whole of a pool in North Cambridge just for us transes! Come get aquatic with us in peace!!!
We can't be arsed having our bodies policed when we want to do things everyone else gets to do unbothered, such as swimming!!! Come join us for a completely peaceful watery experience where facilities will be neutral for our purposes and we can all have a normal time. Location will be emailed to ticket holders ahead of the event.
Trans+ only* event obviously. Our booking conditions also restrict this event to 18+ only.
This event pay-what-you-want, from free. Please donate £3** if you're able to - you can pay it directly into our funding nest here.
If you're unable to come, please cancel your ticket so that someone else can attend.
*We are not the gender police. You don't need to look any specific way or have done any medical transition to attend. Just be trans/nonbinary/genderqueer/questioning/etc.
**based on venue hire fee divided by pool capacity. Any amount appreciated!
The Importants
Try to arrive at 11am, 15 minutes before our booking starts, so you can get the most out of the time.
We'll have sole use of the pool during our booking and will be marking the changing rooms and toilets as gender-neutral. Please note there may be stragglers from the previous session changing; we'll be letting them know, and pool staff are aware we'll be doing this.
N.B. there are viewing windows onto the pool. During the last two events the pool staff reserved the table next to the windows; it's likely they'll do so again.
Dress code: the venue only asks that you wear swimwear of some kind, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in, as long as you've got your bits covered. You're welcome to wear a t-shirt or binder if you want.
Please don't come along if you feel ill in ways that are unusual for you.
There'll be at least one member of TLC available to speak to at all times if you have any concerns.
Accessibility
The venue has powered doors and level access from front door to changing rooms to pool. There is an accessible changing space and accessible toilets. There is a pool hoist - please let us know in advance if you'll need to use it so we can make sure someone is there to operate it. The pool is 1m deep at the shallowest end and 3m deep at the deepest. There are ladders for getting in and out of the pool. You can enter and leave the pool and changing area at any point during the session.
If you have any access questions or requests, please get in touch at transliberationcambridge@protonmail.com.
Transport
There is cycle parking and car parking at the venue. Car parking is free but you'll need to get a ticket. There are Blue Badge parking spaces. The number 1 bus stops 0.2 miles from the venue. Several other buses pass nearby. If you need funds for travel, or assistance planning your route, please get in touch!
