Wild on the Water takes place at Scudamore's Mill Lane Punting Station in Cambridge on 14 October 2026 from 08:00. This workshop involves exploring the River Cam by punt to capture wildlife pictures for £65.00.
Explore the River Cam by punt and capture wildlife from a unique perspective on this early morning photography adventure.
See Cambridge's wildlife from a completely different perspective.
Join us for an early morning two-hour wildlife photography excursion by punt, setting off from the Mill Pond and heading out along the River Cam towards Grantchester before turning back.
As we leave the city behind, we'll follow the quieter stretches of the river, looking for wildlife along the banks, in the reeds, trees and surrounding countryside.
With the river as our vantage point, you'll have the opportunity to photograph birds and other riverside wildlife from angles that simply aren't possible from the towpath.

Working with early morning light
Choosing settings for moving wildlife
Focusing and tracking unpredictable subjects

🚣♂️ Along the Grantchester Stretch
