A play reading of 'Attagirls' by Stewart Ross will be held on 8 December 2026 at Friends Meeting House in Canterbury. This performance highlights the contributions of women pilots during World War II in the ATA. Tickets are priced at £3.96.
A play celebrating the extraordinary skill and dedication of the women pilots of the World War II ATA (Auxiliary Air Transport).
The oft-forgotten women pilots of the World War II ATA (Auxiliary Air Transport) were described by Lord Beaverbrook as ‘soldiers fighting in the struggle just as completely as if they had been engaged on the battlefront.’ Attagirls was commissioned by MT Productions and first performed to widespread acclaim at the 2020 Theatre on the Coast Festival, Southwold.
The reading is another opportunity to further explore Canterbury’s extraordinarily rich, 450-year-old dramatic heritage.
A script will be sent to all who book.
