Discover six premium Greek wines this autumn in Cardiff, exploring indigenous grapes and regions from Santorini to Naoussa.

Join us at Coffee Spot Cardiff on Friday 16th October at 7pm for an autumn evening exploring six premium wines from across Greece.

We’ll travel through some of the country’s most exciting wine regions, from Meteora and Naoussa to Santorini, Crete and the Peloponnese, with a line-up that moves from sparkling and expressive whites through to rosé and characterful reds.

Along the way, you’ll discover indigenous Greek grape varieties including Assyrtiko, Thrapsathiri, Xinomavro and Mavrodafni, while hearing the stories behind the regions, wineries and people who make them.

The Wines

🥂 Theopetra Sparkling White | Meteora

We’ll start the evening with Greek bubbles from Meteora, before making our way through the rest of Greece.

🌿 Domaine Zacharioudakis Vidiano | Crete

From the vineyards of Crete, we’ll discover Vidiano, one of the island’s standout indigenous white varieties, with a richer and more expressive style.

🌋 Gaia Wines Thalassitis, Assyrtiko 2025 | Santorini

From the volcanic vineyards of Santorini comes Assyrtiko, one of Greece’s most celebrated grape varieties and a wine that truly reflects its island origins.

🌸 Argyrakis Wines Áti Rosé 2024| Naoussa

We then head north to Naoussa for our first expression of Xinomavro, this time as a fresh and expressive rosé.

🍷 Argyrakis Wines Áti Red 2021 | Naoussa

Staying in Naoussa, we’ll see another side of Xinomavro with Áti Red as we move towards the richer wines of the evening.

🍷 Inigos Rosso di Massimo, Dry Mavrodafni 2023 | Peloponnese

Our final stop is the Peloponnese and a completely different expression of Mavrodafni. Forget the sweet style you may know. Here, we’ll discover the grape as a dry red.

What to Expect

A relaxed, guided evening of wine, with six different wines to taste and plenty of stories about the grapes, regions and producers behind them.

No previous wine knowledge is needed. Whether you already love Greek wine or are discovering it for the first time, come along, enjoy the evening and find a few new favourites along the way.
