About This Event

Outdoor Live Music featuring The Hunting Horns of Le Lion d'Angers takes place on 23 October 2026 at Dunster Castle and Watermill in Cardiff. Admission is required to join this unique outdoor performance on Green Court.

Join us on Green Court on 23 October for a unique outdoor performance by The Hunting Horns of Le Lion d'Angers, visiting from France.

Enjoy the sound of traditional hunting horns in a special celebration of heritage, music and culture, set against the backdrop of Green Court.

The hunting horn was developed in France over 300 years ago during the reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV. Originally used as a communication tool by hunters, its distinctive sound can carry great distances and reach up to 100 decibels, comparable to the volume of an amplified concert.

Dressed in traditional riding coats, Les Trompes du Lion d'Angers perform both classical fanfares and contemporary compositions that celebrate this historic musical tradition.
