Join Our Nursing Workshop!

Public Health Wales' Mental Wellbeing Team is inviting nurses from across Wales, working in all healthcare settings, to take part in a collaborative workshop.

Together, we will explore what mental wellbeing means, what it means in nursing practice, and agree on a shared approach to discussing and assessing mental wellbeing with patients.

The workshop will focus on agreeing a small number of routine questions that nurses can use to better understand a patient's mental wellbeing and identify what matters most to them. By assessing mental wellbeing, nurses can support the prevention of poor mental wellbeing, promote and protect positive mental wellbeing and resilience, and improve overall health outcomes while helping to reduce health inequalities.

This work will help ensure that nurses are equipped to provide truly person-centred care, recognising mental wellbeing as a key component of overall health and wellbeing.

Whether you are at the beginning of your nursing career or have many years of experience, your perspective is important and will help shape this work for nurses across Wales.
