Would you like to help care for newly planted trees? // Hoffech chi helpu i ofalu am goed sydd newydd eu plannu? Activity details: Please join us for vegetation management around previously planted woodland trees, including Bracken bashing. Please note the site is very steep with uneven terrain. Where? (Please see meeting point on map below) Caerwen Farm, Garth Hill, Pentyrch, Cardiff CF15 9PH ( what3words: ///reds.stow.potato) If coming via car it is recommended to travel via Pentyrch village (it is possible to access from Gwaelod Y Garth side but very tricky hairpin bend part way up – however, if walking it is a lovely route). * Follow Heol Goch through Pentyrch, * Turn right onto Mountain Road, * Turn right onto Garth Hill (by Pinecroft Cattery), * Follow road past the cottages, * Continue for approximately 500m and you will see a layby for parking on your left. The layby is right by the gate accessing the planting area. Alternatively you can park in Gwaelod or Pentyrch villages and walk to site (approximately 20 minutes each way). What do I need to bring? Outdoor clothes, sensible shoes (e.g. walking boots or wellies), waterproofs, water, snacks, and your enthusiasm! Please note there will be no formal toilet facilities. Do I need experience or tools? No, we will provide all tools and training required. All ages and abilities welcome but please let us know if you need any particular support. All site events are risk assessed by staff with appropriate training. It is your responsibility to inform Coed Caerdydd of any specific needs within the group such as a disability or medical condition that affect the activities. If coming via car it is recommended to travel via Pentyrch village (it is possible to access from Gwaelod Y Garth side but very tricky hairpin bend part way up – however, if walking it is a lovely route).
* Follow Heol Goch through Pentyrch,
* Turn right onto Mountain Road,
* Turn right onto Garth Hill (by Pinecroft Cattery),
