About This Event

A workshop titled 'Wildlife friendlier gardening: planting for spring' will be held at the Bute Park Visitor Centre in Cardiff on 28 November 2026. This session aims to educate participants about gardening techniques that benefit local wildlife. Attendance is free.

Want to know more about wildlife gardening? this is for you!

Winter is one of the best months to think about our gardens. We may be hibernating inside from the cold but many creatures will be using our outdoor spaces to do similar.

In this workshop we will discuss how we can support wildlife over the harsher months and prepare for the coming spring!

It’s a good time of year to do maintenance in our outdoor spaces and helps us to spend some much-needed time outdoors during the worse weather.

In this session you will:

Plant flowering bulbs and wildflower seeds to take home!

Bring a picture of your outdoor space along to discuss with others!

Meet other passionate wildlife gardeners and share tips and tricks for wildlife friendly gardening in smaller spaces

Learn about caterpillar food plants and companion planting

Chat about wildlife you can see in your garden over winter and spring

Yn y sesiwn hon byddwch yn:

· Plannu bylbiau blodeuol a hadau blodau gwyllt i fynd adref!

· Dewch â llun o'ch gofod awyr agored i drafod gydag eraill!

· Cwrdd â garddwyr bywyd gwyllt angerddol eraill a rhannu awgrymiadau a chyngor ar gyfer garddio sy'n dda i fywyd gwyllt mewn mannau llai

· Dysgu am blanhigion sy’n fwyd lindys a phlanhigion cydfuddiannol

· Sgwrsio am y bywyd gwyllt y gallwch ei weld yn eich gardd dros y gaeaf a'r gwanwyn
