14-time Blues Music Award winner Curtis Salgado and guitarist Alan Hager: voice, harmonica and guitar in a 90-capacity room.

Just voice, harmonica and guitar, and everything that matters about the blues. 14-time Blues Music Award winner Curtis Salgado and guitarist Alan Hager play the intimate 90-capacity room downstairs at The Oast, Rainham.

Curtis Salgado: a giant of the blues

Co-leader of The Robert Cray Band, frontman of Roomful of Blues, and the man whose 1977 record sessions with John Belushi inspired The Blues Brothers. Ten solo albums, an Alligator Records signing in 2012, and in 2026 the live album Legacy Rewind: Live in '25 on Nola Blue. His 14 Blues Music Awards include the B.B. King Entertainer of the Year. He has shared stages with Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, Bobby Bland and Bonnie Raitt, and has kept performing through liver cancer, lung cancer and open-heart surgery. NPR calls him "a blues icon".

Alan Hager: "the best player in the business"

Curtis's words, not ours. Alan studied under Pat Metheny at Berklee, graduated from the New England Conservatory, and has played with Curtis since 2003. Together they made Rough Cut (Alligator, 2018), thirteen songs recorded live and unrehearsed.

What the press say
