It’s official — Singles’ Social Club Rochester is launching! Come paddle, mingle, make new friends & grab a drink afterwards.

So… how are we supposed to meet people these days?

Dating apps? Exhausting.

Speed dating? Potentially awkward, and somehow expensive.

Going into London every weekend in the hope of meeting someone? Surely there’s another way.

That’s the idea behind Singles' Social Club Rochester.

A social club for local singles aged roughly 25–35, created to make meeting new people feel a little more natural — and a lot more fun.

We’ll get together for everything from padel, pilates, paddleboarding and bouldering to yoga, dinners, comedy nights, cruises, pub quizzes, day trips and the occasional drink or two. Some events will be active, some relaxed, some slightly ridiculous — but they’ll all have one thing in common: a group of people who are actually up for meeting others.

Come on your own or bring a friend. Try something new. Make some friends. Have a drink. Have a laugh. Maybe flirt a little. And who knows… you might even meet someone you’d like to see again.

The events are aimed at 25–35-year-olds, but don’t worry if you’re a little outside that range — if you think you’ll fit in, you’re welcome.

We’ll aim to keep the groups roughly balanced between guys and girls, while making sure the focus stays on having a genuinely good time rather than treating every event like a dating exercise.

Why “Prelude”?

Each event is called a Prelude — Prelude 1, Prelude 2, Prelude 3 and so on.

Why? Because hopefully each one is the beginning of something: a new friendship, a new connection, a new experience… or perhaps something a little more.

So this is Prelude 1.

And hopefully, it’s just the beginning.

Prelude 1: Paddleboarding & Post-Drinks 🏄‍♀️🍻

Get ready for the very first Prelude!

We’ll kick things off with a quick introduction and safety briefing, so there’s no need to worry if you’re new to paddleboarding.

Then it’s 1 hour of paddling around the basin at Chatham Maritime Watersports Centre, followed by post-paddle drinks, chats and getting to know everyone at Ship & Trades.

Come for the paddle, stay for the drinks — and who knows what might happen! 😉
