About This Event

This millinery workshop in Writtle takes place over two sessions on 21 and 28 November 2026. Participants will learn traditional hat-blocking techniques to create a unique fedora using wool felt. The fee of £260 includes all materials, one-to-one tutoring, refreshments, and a hat box. Sessions are held at The Stables.

Over two studio sessions (Saturdays 21 and 28 November), Over two studio sessions you will learn about traditional millinery techniques and work with your chosen colour wool felt. You will learn hat blocking techniques and construct and decorate a bespoke and unique fedora. Suitable for beginners – although some hand sewing skills would be an advantage. All materials are included (with a choice of colours), one-to-one tutoring, a hat box to transport and keep your beautiful creation, refreshments and complimentary parking. ​£260 One to One Experience
