Roller derby is a full contact sport that is played on quad roller skates.

⚡Roller Derby is proudly one of the most inclusive communities you’ll ever join, welcoming all body types, genders, ages (18+), and is fully LGBTQIA+ inclusive🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

💜No skating experience? No problem, we’ll teach you everything from standing on skates, being able to stop and fall safely, to blasting round the track scoring all the points.

💜Contact is only ever taught if you have been signed off as safe to skate. For some folk this takes a few weeks and others may take a few months. Everyones journey is different and everyone reaches goals at different stages.

💜If full-contact isn’t your JAM (ha, if you know you know!), you can still be a part of this fantastic sport, keep the game rolling as a referee 🦓 or a non-skating official 🦩. 💜The first taster session is free and includes kit hire.

💜Please select your essential kit hire add-ons from the list when securing your ticket

💜If you love it (we know you will) and want to continue, a payment of £30 per month direct debit to Essex Roller Derby is required.

💜This monthly payment includes weekly training sessions every Wednesday, 7pm till 9pm at Hylands school in Chelmsford. Except during the Easter holiday, Christmas break and 4 week summer break.

💜Kit hire is available and costs £20 for 10 consecutive sessions.

💜When you secure your space, you will receive an email from us 1 week before the event. Please ensure to check you junk mail.

⚡Our main team trains at Riverside leisure centre on Sundays 9am-12pm.
