Immerse yourself into Winter at Hanningfield

Escape the post-Christmas chaos! Winter can be a difficult time of year, but nature can help us beat the winter blues and boost our wild wellbeing. Join in to learn about the benefits of being out in nature and how you can explore it in 2027. Try out a new skill as well with outdoor crafts. This event is suitable for 16 and over (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).

📍Where do we meet? Inside the visitor Centre

🥾What should we wear? Most of our events are fully outdoors and you need to come dressed for the weather. We recommend layers (top and bottom) which can get mucky. Wellies (with thick socks) and waterproofs are a good shout if you have them.

🌍Where are you based? We are located in Mid-Essex, local to Chelmsford, Ingatestone, Billericay, Wickford, S.W Ferrers and Basildon.

🚗Is there parking? Yes. We have a large free car park.

🚇Can we get to you on public transport? We are accesible by bus, with bus stops outside the centre and 10 minutes away.

🚻Are there toilets? Toilets are located inside the visitor centre.

Is there a Cafe or shop? The visitor centre has a shop and café serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, ice cream and light lunches.

Can we bring a dog? Assistance dogs are welcome on our events.

Is it wheelcahir accesible? Our reserve pathways are flat and easy to push wheelchairs, but our activities mound can be slippy and difficult to push wheelchairs up.
