The Ordinary time - the time in which we actually live event will be held on 27 May 2027 at Pleshy Retreat House in Chelmsford. It is a quiet day led by the Venerable Ruth Patton.
An 'ordinary' Quiet Day
Led by the Venerable Ruth Patton. The days following the feast of Pentecost until the feast of All Saints are known as Ordinary time in the life of the church. And yet, these ordinary days are the time in which we actually live, accompanied by the Holy Spirit, awaiting the Second Advent.
In the slower and longer days of summer there's an invitation to rest in the beauty of creation before the pace picks up in the autumn. Rest awhile in the beauty of the Retreat House and gardens, with a day punctuated by short acts of worship, reflections, music and poetry.
Ruth is currently the Archdeacon of Colchester, having previously served in Great Dunmow and Barnston and in Witham. A trained musician, Ruth worked for BBC Radio prior to ordination, starting off at Radio 3. In her spare time she enjoys hiking in the Lake District, baking (but nowhere near Bake-Off standards!), reading cosy crime novels, crochet and going to the theatre, gigs and concerts.
If you wish to have add an overnight stay or two, please contact The Retreat House office direct 01245 237251.
