FLVC Safeguarding Group C Training will be held on 20 October 2026 at Connah's Quay Sea Cadet Hall. This course is aimed at individuals requiring safeguarding training as part of their role, providing essential knowledge to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns. The training is subsidised for FLVC members.
Flintshire Local Voluntary Council is pleased to offer Safeguarding Group C Training, delivered by Groundwork North Wales.
As part of our commitment to supporting the voluntary and community sector, FLVC is offering this course at a subsidised rate for members.
FLVC Members – £50 per person
Non-members – £75 per person
This course, taking place across 20th and 21st October, is designed for those who require Group C safeguarding training as part of their role, providing the knowledge and understanding needed to recognise and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
Safeguarding is about protecting children and adults from abuse or neglect and educating those around them to recognise the signs and dangers.
Group C practitioners are those who have direct responsibility for safeguarding people:
who have an assessing role that’s linked to the safeguarding process and / or
who are operating at a level where they can give advice about safeguarding to those in group A and group B and / or
in a setting they work in or manage and / or
with whom they spend a lot of time unsupervised and there may be safeguarding concerns.
Group C practitioners also include an organisation’s designated safeguarding person and people who take a more prominent role in safeguarding decisions, including those with an active role in core groups and protection planning activities.

Important – Course Requirement
Attendees must have completed Safeguarding Group B training before attending this Group C course. Please ensure you have completed the required Group B training prior to booking.

This two-day course will take place on Tuesday, 20 October, and Wednesday, 21 October.
Please note: This is a two-day course, and participants will need to attend both days.
Time: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Please arrive by 9:15 AM for registration)
Location: Connah's Quay Sea Cadet Hall, Dock Road, Connah's Quay, CH5 4DS (what3words ///hung.breeze.various)
Tea and coffee will be available throughout the training. Lunch is not provided, so attendees are asked to bring their own lunch on both days.

Bookings should be made via Eventbrite. Following your booking, you will receive an email containing a link to FLVC's Training Terms & Conditions.
FLVC will then check your organisation's membership status and confirm the appropriate course fee. An invoice will be issued following this confirmation.
If your organisation is not currently an FLVC member, you will have the opportunity to apply for membership. Further information about membership can be provided, and the applicable course rate will be confirmed before your invoice is issued.
Payment must be received before the training takes place.
Places are limited and advance booking is required.
