This summer, Chester Cathedral becomes a place for rest, play, and recreation from Saturday 25 July - 31 August. Spirit of Summer is a season-long programme of installations, exhibitions, activities and events with something for every age and every pace. Marvel at Kiosk, Wolfgang Weileder's extraordinary pew-built sculpture in the South Transept. Race marbles down a 10-metre Giant Marble Run in the Nave. Lose yourself in Postcards from Rhyl, a photography exhibition evoking the golden age of the British seaside holiday. Take on the climbing wall at the West Doors (additional ticket required), follow the Roll Into Summer trail through the Cathedral and beyond into the city. Whether you're looking for wonder, activity or a quiet moment of summer stillness, Spirit of Summer has a place for you.
