Tyndale 1526 is a forthcoming exhibition at Chester Cathedral Library exploring the history of the English Bible from William Tyndale's original translation in 1526 to its modern legacy. William Tyndale’s revolutionary New Testament in English first appeared in 1526. From Tyndale’s world to his present-day legacy, explore the fascinating history of the English Bible using Chester Cathedral’s own Library collection. A special display in the Cathedral Library from 1 May – 30 September. This can be found in the North Quire Aisle, during Cathedral opening times. In addition, within the Exhibition Library's special opening times, which can be booked onto below. Morning sessions are held between 10:00 - 13:00. Afternoon sessions are between 13:30 - 16:30. Please note: we rely on our amazing volunteers for this exhibition to be open to the public, so it will not be open on regular days or dates. The Library is only accessible by several steps, and we do not allow food, drink, or large bags/pushchairs into the exhibition space. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
