Discover the landscape, stories and creative heritage of the Dedham Vale on a guided walk to the Bottengoms garden.

Starting at St Andrew's Church, Wormingford, we'll follow historic lanes and field paths to Bottengoms, the former home of writer Ronald Blythe and artists John and Christine Nash. The walk is 6km and will take approximately 3.5 hours.

Along the way, we'll explore the Dedham Vale's rich artistic and literary heritage, from Constable and Gainsborough to Cedric Morris, and discover how Bottengoms became a gathering place for artists, writers and creative friends.

At Bottengoms, we'll explore the garden – its history, plants and wildlife – and learn about the work being undertaken to restore it as a haven for nature and creativity.

Please note that the route includes uneven ground and farmland with livestock – sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are essential.

Bottengoms house is not open to visitors and does not form part of the tour.

Tickets are offered on a donation basis, with a suggested donation of £20 per person.
