Join other local writers first thing on a Monday morning every fortnight to kick start your writing week. The idea is simple: a quiet, supportive space where people can come together once a fortnight for dedicated writing time.

10am to 12pm, every other Monday - The Pointer Inn, Alresford. Starting again on 24th August.

No writing experience necessary, just the will to write. Everyone is welcome, both aspiring and established writers of all ages and from all backgrounds. Our first session we had someone who hadn't written at all since childhood, but who managed to get some words down nevertheless, and now they are off...

LGBTQ+ friendly.

We'll take our places at 10am and, after a short welcome, begin two 30-minute writing sprints with a break in between to buy a coffee or two.

This event is FREE, but to support our friendly hosts at The Pointer Inn, you are encouraged to buy something to eat or drink during your visit. Breakfast and lunch will be available as well as teas and coffees etc. You are very welcome to stay after we finish writing to share creative ideas with fellow writers in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Tickets are limited so please book to ensure a table space in our nook by the bar and fireplace. There's also a covered outdoor space for warmer days.

If you're using a laptop, please have it fully charged for your writing session as we don’t have many plug sockets.

This is a silent writing session - there's no workshopping, just the motivation of being around other writers, plus lots of opportunity to chat to likeminded people before, after and during the break.

Tickets are FREE but please let us know by email if you are unable to attend as places are limited. We may ask you to transfer a ticket to another writer, if you are unable to attend.

The Pointer Inn is wheelchair accessible and the toilets are located on the ground floor.
