About This Event
11am Audio Theatre 12pm Heritage & Storytelling talk 11.00-12pm Voices From Pope’s Quay audio theatre listening Visit the house and listen to our audio theatre offering which brings to life some of the past occupants of the house through 13 monologues recorded in 2025. A blend of fact and fiction, it was created by Strive Theatre as part of a Heritage Council supported project. The entire set of monologues is just under 30 minutes long and will be played twice through – from Joseph Lavitt’s 1721 shipwrecked letter home from Norway, through to the early Twentieth century members of the Ryan family. 12-1pm Heritage and The Big Bang of Storytelling – a talk by our Artist-in-Residence, Cónal Creedon A journey to discover the earliest trace of storytelling DNA, interlaced with an exploration of Cork as a sense of place. Cónal’s many admirers will know already that he is always engaging, entertaining and erudite with a unique understanding of his hometown and this area of the city in particular. Our Artist-in-Residence programme is made possible by the support of Cork City Council’s Arts Grant scheme.
