About This Event

A meeting regarding cohousing communities for people over 50 will be held at Cork Constitution FC in Cork on 7 October 2026. Tickets cost £7.00.

The meeting explores cohousing communities for people 50+ as a new way of living into our later years.

Planning ahead for where and how you want to live in your later years. It’s never too early. This event is designed to help you do just that.

Cohousing for people over 50 is about living independently, but never alone! Communities are ‘self-managing’ groups of like-minded neighbours who value both privacy and connection. Each person or couple has their own comfortable, energy-efficient home – their own front door and private space – alongside shared garden and community areas where people can meet, relax and socialise. From the start, the group sets its own rules - deciding on location, design, shared amenities and ongoing good neighbourhood practices.

It’s an affordable, supportive way to live, stay active and enjoy later life with neighbours who know and look out for each other.

Join Cohousing Communities Ireland to learn more about living in a cohousing community – the types of homes, shared facilities, known benefits, key issues for consideration and much else.
